Oldie and Goodie Pinecones
Can easily be doubled!
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter*
  • 2 tablespoons suet or lard*
  • 8 pinecones**
  • 2½ cups birdseed
  1. Place the peanut butter and fat in a saucepan over medium heat. Allow to melt for 4–5 minutes and stir to blend. Meanwhile, tie twine around the top of the pinecones and place the birdseed in a shallow container. Dip the pinecones at least halfway into the melted mixture. Then roll or dip in the birdseed. Place on a piece of waxed paper to dry and set. When dry, hang on branches outside.
