The Davy Crockett Days celebration takes place the first full week of October each year in Rutherford. The festival honors Colonel Davy Crockett who lived near Rutherford from 1822 until 1835.  The Davy Crockett Cabin-Museum, a replica of Davy’s last home, serves as the centerpiece of the week’s activities.
