Great Backyard Bird Count (Mill Ridge Park)
Sat., February 15, 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Free
Join for a fun bird-watching hike at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15! Whether you’re new to birding or a seasoned watcher, this event is for YOU!
Participants will be walking a moderate 2-mile trail to spot and identify birds as part of the Great Backyard Bird Count. The counts and walks will be led by Tahira Mohyuddin, an avian ecologist from Nashville. Tahira has a wealth of knowledge to share — she recently completed her Master’s degree in Natural Resources, researching migratory songbirds. She’s excited to connect with the community and share her passion for birds!
The event organizers will have binoculars and birding guides available to help you out — no experience needed! Bring the whole family and enjoy a morning outdoors.
Participants will meet at 12965 Old Hickory Blvd, Antioch, 37013. Look for three yellow flags and orange cones to guide you in. There’s plenty of parking along the gravel driveway.
This is a great way to learn something new, connect with others and enjoy the beauty of birds. See you there!
