“Reach for the Stars” with the Nashville Philharmonic

| FreeThe Nashville Philharmonic presents “Reach for the Stars” with winners of the annual NPO Concerto and Composition Competition. Kaili Wang, Harpeth Hall senior and the winner in the Young Artist Division of the Concerto Competition, will solo in Sarasate’s Carmen Concert Fantasy. Composition Competition winner and Belmont University School of Music alumna Christina Wetzler will debut Summons from the Wilderness, a tone poem for full orchestra. The winner of the Adult Division of the Concerto Competition, James Matthews, will be featured in the fall concert series of the NPO with mvt. I of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Wrapping up this final concert of the NPO season is a treasure of the orchestral canon, The Planets by Gustav Holst.
The concert is free and family-friendly. The concert will premiere on April 29 at 7:30 p.m. at McAfee Concert Hall on Belmont University Campus.
