Third Annual Tennessee Poets Day

Sat., April 27

| Free

The Tennessee Poets Day is an annual event organized by Poets From the Neighborhood (PFTN) as one of PFTN’s community outreach volunteer efforts. Celebrated as part of National Poetry Month, the Third Annual Tennessee Poets Day events include keynote poetry by Tennessee Poet Laureate Maggi B. Vaughn and Craft Talk on Outreach and Business of Poetry by published Tennessee poets Veeraja R and David M Harris. Readings and book-signings by renowned local Tennessee poets are bound to inspire the young and old in the community. There are two Open Mic Poetry sessions (10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.) — free and open to public — providing excellent opportunity for the aspiring local poets and hidden talents. While there is no age limit to participate, the poetry read has to be your original work in English, family-friendly and of CLEAN language (no profanity). There are door prizes and prizes for best poem and reading, too. All events and readings will be recorded by co-sponsor WC-TV TN  to be aired at a later time. Venue is provided by the other co-sponsor, Williamson County Public Library main branch in Franklin.
