The Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra will perform music by three composers who not only show us the unique sounds, musical styles, and culture of France, but also the scope of early twentieth century music. From the jazz roots of Gershwin’s An American in Paris, to the impressionism of Debussy’s La Mer and to the genre-bending playfulness and strong contrasts in Poulenc’s Gloria with chorus and soprano soloist Rebekah Alexander.
