Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Songwriter Session: Kent Blazy and Cory Batten

Kent Blazy and Cory Batten co-wrote Chris Young’s #1 hit “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song).” Blazy has also written numerous songs recorded by Garth Brooks—including the hits “Ain’t Going Down (‘Til the Sun Comes Up),” “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” “She’s Gonna Make It” and “Somewhere Other Than the Night”—as well as “Headed for a Heartache” (Gary Morris), “All the Women I Am” (Reba McEntire), and songs recorded by Diamond Rio, Kenny Chesney, Terri Clark, Patty Loveless, Randy Houser and Jon Pardi. Batten has also written “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” (Blake Shelton), “The Call” (Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood) and songs recorded by Love and Theft, Clay Walker and Rhonda Vincent.
