Juneteenth

Wed., June 19, 5:00 pm-7:30 pm

Free

Join for a Special Juneteenth Commemoration from 5-7:30 p.m.

Commemorate Juneteenth with us by spending 2.5 hours outdoors, reflecting on its significance. Take time to honor the 2.5 years delay in freedom for 250,000 enslaved people of Galveston, TX, following Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.

They’ll gather to practice yoga, read from ‘Black Nature,’ enjoy activities in nature around the park and share fellowship. Individuals and families are encouraged to picnic with us. Simply step outside and appreciate the freedom found in nature as we commemorate this important day together.

Light snacks and beverages, as well as sunscreen/bug spray will be provided.

Meet at 12965 Old Hickory Blvd, Antioch, 37013. Look for three yellow flags and cones at the driveway entrance. Park in the grass lot. A portable toilet is available onsite.
