Our shutterbugs all know that Tennessee is a beautiful state with countless opportunities for incredible photographs. From west to east, you can travel some 550 miles without leaving the state. Trekking from Memphis to Mountain City is a journey that will take you through six distinctive land regions — the Gulf Coastal Plain, Nashville Basin, Highland Rim, Appalachian Plateau, Appalachian Ridge and Valley Region and Blue Ridge.
Each region has its own flavor and character carved by the land and molded by many generations. Our contest theme, “Travel Tennessee,” gave photographers a broad range of subjects, from popular destinations like downtown Memphis to county fairs, country roads in Cades Cove and great blue herons at sunrise. Entries included Tennesseans, historic sites, entertaining events and landscapes.
