Southern Cheese Straws Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 pound shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic or onion salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Place the flour, butter and cheese in the bowl of a food processor. Cover and process until blended. Divide into four equal portions and shape into a ball. One at a time, place each dough ball between pieces of waxed paper and roll into a rectangle. Cut into 1-inch strips and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough. Sprinkle the strips evenly with the salt and pepper. Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely on wire racks before storing in tins.
