Pear-Sausage Quiche

Ingredients
- 1 9 inch pastry shell unbaked
- 1 pear peeled and sliced
- 1/2 pound pork sausage hot
- 1/3 cup sweet onions chopped
- 1/3 cup pecans chopped
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme dried
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup cheddar cheese sharp, shredded
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and place the pastry in a pie plate. Arrange the pear slices in the pastry and set aside.
- Cook the sausage and onions in a large skillet over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until the meat is done. Drain and evenly spread over the pear slices. Sprinkle with the pecans and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs, half-and-half, salt, thyme and pepper. Stir in the cheese and pour over the sausage mixture. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean and the crust is golden brown. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving warm.
